The best homemade pasta you will ever eat
Cooking class
Every Italian region is quite famous for food and Apulia makes no exception. During our cooking classes, guests will have the opportunity to learn how to make our local kinds of pasta, orecchiette and maccheroni, initially observing Rosa’s wise hands and then trying to make their own pasta. Rosa helps Cristina preparing breakfast every morning so she is an expert in food, you can trust her. Water, flour and elbow grease are the only ingredients for this speciality.
Cooking classes must be booked at the reception and they are free of charge. They usually start at 6 pm and they are followed by a dinner in our restaurant “Casa dell’Angelo” where guests can taste their own freshly made pasta with fresh tomato sauce and turnip tops. It is a very funny activity and everybody loves to try. Are you ready to join it?
Red, white or rosé?
Wine tasting
For those who enjoy wine, Apulia is the right & magical holiday destination. Beyond the coastline and picture-perfect golden sands lies different vineyards that have been nurtured for centuries and are treasured by locals. Heir of an ancient wine tradition that has its roots in the Greek culture, Apulia has always been one of the most abundant wine regions of Italy and the beating heart of Mediterranean viticulture. Salento is considered a red wine area having two main grape varieties: Primitivo and Negroamaro, but a number of interesting white and rosé wines are also produced in this area. Taste, learn and enjoy Apulian wines. Take part in our wine tastings or book a guided tour of selected vineyards and wine cellars. Transfer from and to vineyards included.
The true La Dolce Vita feeling
Ape Calessino tour
Have you ever heard of La Dolce Vita, the famous movie directed by Federico Fellini? The main character of the movie had a beautiful journey through Rome in search for love and happiness. We have been inspired by Fellini and this is why we have thought about using one of the symbol of La Dolce Vita in order to make you explore and fall in love with Salento.
We give you the chance to visit Salento on board of the iconic, romantic and comfortable Ape Calessino. The vehicle is suitable for couples or even families as it can host up to 4 people. Our ideal tour includes visiting Castro Marina, Santa Cesarea Terme and the beautiful coastal road linking the two villages. During the journey, you just have to enjoy the view while the wind and the heady scent of the sea contribute to create an idyllic atmosphere. Are you ready to go?
Fish, meat or pizza?
Social dining
In our hotel, we try to encourage socialization as a show of the true feeling of authenticity we want to instill in our guests. After a long day spent at the seaside or exploring the surroundings, there is nothing better than having dinner in a very friendly and warm atmosphere together with other guests.
Palazzo Guglielmo organizes 3 different kinds of social dinners depending on the day of the week all starting at 8 pm: every Monday there is a fish BBQ; every Wednesday a meat BBQ and on Friday there is the Pizza night! Antonio deals with the main dish of the day, while Rosa and Cristina makes a lot of appetizers, mainly vegetables, prepared following the local tradition. At the end, there is also a dessert representing the ideal conclusion of what we think will be a memorable dinner.
THE SUN, THE SEA AND THE WIND
Visit and explore Salento!
One of the least known Italian tourist destinations, Salento provides a mix of history, culture, fabulous Mediterranean food and wines, beautiful architecture and a real warmth that will make you bring an amazing memory of the place. Salento is simple yet sophisticated. White-washed houses, narrow streets, baroque balconies, cascading geraniums and centuries-old olive groves all form part of the fabulous scenery here. Salento offers a lot more than sun, sea and wind.
You can have a lot of different experiences depending on the place you want to visit: boat trips, visits of churches, underground cities, oil mills, wine cellars..every taste will be satisfied!
